Paddling Season Kick-Off With Short’s Brewing Company

Join Paddle Antrim for a special paddling event to kick-off the paddling season on the Chain of Lakes Water Trail with Short’s Brewing Company!

Grab your paddleboard, kayak or paddle craft of choice and join us for an hour long paddle on Elk River followed by a gathering, 2 minutes up 31, at Short’s Pull Barn. 

Schedule of Events:

5:30 pm – Meet at Elk Rapids Rotary Park for a community paddle on Elk River

• All paddlers must bring their own craft/boat (SUP, kayak, canoe, etc.. ), paddle and life jacket. As with all Paddle Antrim events, life jackets must be property warn at all times. 
• All ages are welcome but children under 18 must be accompanies by an adult on the water. 

5:45 pm – Launch as a group for a 1 hour slow paddle on the Elk River 

6:45 pm – Head to Short’s Pull Barn (211 Industrial Park Drive, Elk Rapids, MI 49629)

• Discount on beverages (all community paddle participants will get their first pint for $1)
• Live music by Spencer Hollenbeck 
• Food trucks – Alley Cats Eats and Sweets and Osorio Tacos

9:00 pm – Event concludes

This event is free and no pre-registration is required.

To protect our waters, anytime you change waterways you should ALWAYS Clean, Drain, and Dry your boat and gear to prevent the spread of invasive species. Before joining us out on the water, we ask that you Clean, Drain, Dry your boat and gear. To wash your own boat, check out this link . We recently had New Zealand Mud Snails found  in our waterways and hope everyone will do their part to protect our lakes/rivers.
