Reaching our goal means we are on track to complete the 2nd phase of the project. This includes improved accessibility throughout the park, upgrading one restroom (including an adult changing station), accessible picnic tables, drinking fountain and enhancements to the community pavilion.

Investing in Community, Accessibility & Water Stewardship
Paddle Antrim, in partnership with the Village of Central Lake and Central Lake Lions, is launching an exciting initiative to revitalize the Central Lake waterfront—enhancing access, promoting stewardship, and deepening community connections to the Chain of Lakes Water Trail.
Phase 1: Completed – Includes new universally accessible kayak launch, kayak storage rack, pathways and parking area on the east side of Intermediate River.
Phase 2: Funded (completion estimated Summer 2027) – Includes connected pathways in the park to downtown and the eastside improvements and to pavilion and restroom. Updated accessible restroom with adult changing station. Accessible picnic tables, benches and drinking fountain.
Phase 3: Fundraising in progress – Completion of 2nd restroom, pathway to beach, accessible swing.
Why This Matters
The Chain of Lakes Water Trail is a vital natural asset connecting people, communities, and ecosystems. After years of planning and community input, this project will reflect what matters most:
