DESCRIPTION:Register Today\nClass will be held at River Park (6625 Bridge St\, Ellsworth\, MI) \nThis two day workshop is designed to give leaders who engage with the broader paddling community training to provide safe\, fun\, paddling experiences at the entry level\, that are not craft specific. Targeted applications could include community outreach programs\, local clubs\, parks\, scouting programs\, etc. In this course\, you will be trained and assessed for Community Paddlesport Leader (CPL) certification. \nPlease come prepared with lunch\, drinking water and appropriate clothing for immersion: quick dry layers (no cotton)\, a wetsuit if you have it and any kayaking gear of your own. Front Street will be closed to vehicle traffic between Park and Union Streets. \nWhen: August 9 | 6-9pm \nDetails: Come downtown to shop\, eat\, and enjoy the events taking place on Front Street. Enjoy this walkable event in summer’s third act.  \nParking: Grandview Parkway is under construction. SUMMARY:Elk Rapids Harbor Days Community Paddle
DESCRIPTION:Grab your paddleboard\, kayak or paddle craft of choice and join Paddle Antrim for an amazing evening paddle on the Elk River as a kick off to Elk Rapids Harbor Days. This hour long slow paddle will begin at Elk Rapid’s Rotary Park at 6:30 pm to check in and we will launch  as a group at 6:45 pm. Paddle Antrim encourage all ages and types of paddle crafts to join us on the water for these slow paddles. These paddles last approximately one hour on the water\, are free\, and no pre-registration is required. \nAll paddlers must bring their own craft/boat\, paddle\, and pfd (life jacket). As with all Paddle Antrim events\, pfds must be properly worn at all times. All ages are welcome but children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult out on the water. \nAll paddlers must complete a paddling event waiver prior to participation. Waivers can be viewed and signed digitally. \nComplete Waiver \nTo protect our waters\, anytime you change waterways you should ALWAYS Clean\, Drain\, and Dry your boat and gear to prevent the spread of invasive species. DESCRIPTION:Grab your paddleboard\, kayak or paddle craft of choice for an amazing evening paddle with Paddle Antrim and Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy (GTRLC) through the St. Clair Lake – Six Mile Lake Natural Area. \nThe paddle will begin at St. Clair Lake DNR Boat Access Site (9400 Six Mile Lake Road) at 6:00 pm to check in. At 6:15 pm GTRLC will give remarks and we will launch as a group at 6:30 pm. While we are out on the paddle GTRLC will help paddlers identify native plants.  \nThe St. Clair Lake – Six Mile Lake Natural Area is a 255 acre preserve co-owned and co-managed by the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy and the Little Traverse Conservancy . Learn more here. \nAs with all Paddle Antrim community paddles\, we encourage all ages and types of paddle crafts to join us. DESCRIPTION:Class will be held at River Park (6625 Bridge St\, Ellsworth\, MI)\nRegister Today! \n\nThis all-day class is for those who may have taken one of our Kayaking Essentials (or another class) and want to continue to work on their skills and learn new skills. We will go over basic stroke techniques including bracing and edging. We will work on rescue techniques including self rescues and t-rescues.  \nBecause a portion of the day will be spent on rescues\, a kayak with bulkheads in the bow and stern is necessary.  Please contact us if you are in need of a kayak to use for the class prior to registering and we may be able to accommodate.   \nBring:  \n\nSea Kayak (one with a bow and stern bulkhead)\nPaddle\nVest-style PFD (life jacket – inherently buoyant\, no inflatables)\nClothes/rash guard that can get wet – polypropylene\, polyester\, coolmax\, etc…. anything but cotton!\nFleece and raincoat (if cool weather)\nWater shoes preferred over sandals. DESCRIPTION:Grab your paddleboard\, kayak\, or canoe and join Paddle Antrim for an amazing evening paddle out of Central Lake. This hour-long slow paddle will meet at Central Lake’s Thurston Park\, near the pavilion at 6:30 pm and launch at 6:45 pm. We encourage all ages and types of paddle crafts to join us on the water for our  slow paddles. Community paddles last approximately one hour on the water\, are free\, and no pre-registration is required. All paddlers must bring their own craft/boat\, paddle\, and pfd (life jacket). As with all Paddle Antrim events\, pfds must be properly worn at all times. All ages are welcome but children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult out on the water. \nAll paddlers must complete a paddling event waiver prior to participation. Waivers can be viewed and signed digitally. \nComplete Waiver \nTo protect our waters\, anytime you change waterways you should ALWAYS Clean\, Drain\, and Dry your boat and gear to prevent the spread of invasive species. SUMMARY:Paddlesports Safety Facilitator Training
DESCRIPTION:Class will be held at River Park (6625 Bridge St\, Ellsworth\, MI) \nREGISTER TODAY \n\nPaddlesports Safety Facilitator (PSF) certification program teaches basic safety and paddling knowledge\, as well as simple rescue skills. The training for this certification includes general on water safety and kayaking. With this training\, participants will be able to introduce paddlecraft safety and knowledge beginning paddlers in a land-based setting. This is great training for livery staff\, parks staff\, individuals helping get people out on the water or anyone who is interested in on-water safety and best practices for enjoyable paddling. To receive the certification\, the participant must be an American Canoe Association member. You can also participate in the class and not receive the certification.  \nBring:  \n\nKayak (whatever you use is ok)\nPaddle\nVest-style PFD (life jacket – inherently buoyant\, no inflatables)\nClothes/rash guard that can get wet – polypropylene\, polyester\, coolmax\, etc…. anything but cotton!\nFleece and raincoat (if cool weather)\nWater shoes preferred over sandals. Must stay on feet\, no flip flops.\nDry clothes to change into\nWater bottle\nSunscreen\n\nIf you do not have a kayak\, please contact us prior to registration and we may be able to accommodate. Life jackets must be worn at all times when out on the water.  \nAll classes are taught by ACA (American Canoe Association) certified instructors. \nMaximum student: teacher ratio is 12:1\nAges: 16 and up\n$65/person \nREQUIREMENTS:\n– Participants must wear life jackets while on the water. \n– Waivers are required. We look forward to kicking off our 10th paddling season with friends and supporters. The community paddle portion of this event will run from 2:00 – 3:30 pm\, followed by a gathering at Short’s Beer Garden just down the road from 3:30 – 5:00 pm. This event is free and open to the public.  \n2:00 – 3:30 pm – Community Paddle launching from Richardi Park at 2:15 pm (E Antrim St\, Bellaire\, MI 49615) \n3:30 – 5:00 pm – 10 Year celebration at Short’s Beer Garden (118 N Bridge St\, Bellaire\, MI 49615) \nAll paddlers must bring their own craft/boat\, paddle\, and pfd (life jacket). As with all Paddle Antrim events\, pfds must be properly worn at all times. Antrim St\, Bellaire) at 6:00 pm to check in and we will launch promptly as a group at 6:15 pm. Paddle Antrim encourage all ages and types of paddle crafts to join us on the water for these slow paddles. These paddles last approximately one hour on the water\, are free\, and no pre-registration is required. All paddlers must bring their own craft/boat\, paddle\, and pfd (life jacket). As with all Paddle Antrim events\, pfds must be properly worn at all times.
