SUMMARY:Coastal Kayaking Immersion
DESCRIPTION:In this all day class paddlers will focus on boat control\, safety\, and building confidence. You will learn fundamental safety skills and stroke enhancements that will help you turn better and travel forward with less energy expended. Other skills will include basic rescues\, edging\, and beginning bracing. You’ll also be introduced to “risk management” as it relates to sea kayaking in the places you plan to play. \nCourse Covers: boat control – stroke enhancement\, edging/stability\, capsize prevention – bracing\, moving sideways – draws & sculling\, and rescue techniques \nParticipants must be at least 14 years old and meet the ACA eligibility requirements. Participants must bring the following equipment: sit-in kayak with 2 bulkheads\, paddle\, pfd (life jacket).  Also required is a spray skirt\, bilge pump\, and a paddle float. A kayak may be provided by the instructor at no cost for those who need one. This must be included in registration. \nAll classes are taught by ACA (American Canoe Association) certified instructors. Class size is limited with a 5:1 maximum student to teacher ratio. Classes are non-refundable. Use link below to register for this class.

DESCRIPTION:Paddle Antrim and Short’s Brewing Company invite you to kick of summer in style and support Paddle Antrim’s efforts to protect our waterways and develop the Chain of Lakes Water Trail. \nThanks to a generous matching challenge\, all donations made at the event will be matched 1:1 by Short’s Brewing Company. As if that wasn’t enough\, all donors will also receive a $1 pour of any of Short’s delicious brews (limit 1 per person). \nMusic will be jamming and there will be great eats from Birdhouse Bites and Rocco’s Old World Pizzeria available.
