DESCRIPTION:Student to instructor ratio: 5:1 maximum — $150/person\nThis class is non-refundable. \nWe are teaming up with Michael Gray from Uncommon Adventures who has over 30 years experience teaching and leading kayaking adventures all over the world. \nIn this all day class paddlers will focus on boat control\, safety\, and building confidence. You will learn fundamental safety skills and stroke enhancements that will help you turn better and travel forward with less energy expended. Other skills will include basic rescues\, edging\, and beginning bracing. SUMMARY:Kayak Rescues Class
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an informative\, energizing and very experiential learning session as we explore and discover the best solutions to when (not if) we end up in the water\, out of our boats. This course is geared for ALL levels of paddlers. \nCourse Covers: 30 Second Kayak Rescue\, Hand of God\, Cowboy\, Paddle Float\, Scoop\, and You Tell Me. This course is geared to ALL level of paddlers. \nParticipants must be at least 14 years old and meet the ACA eligibility requirements. Participants must bring the following equipment: sit-in kayak with 2 bulkheads\, paddle\, pfd (life jacket).  Also please bring if you have a spray skirt\, bilge pump\, and a paddle float. Paddles and Pedals in Bellaire rents these kayaks or contact Paddle Antrim to see if the instructor may have an appropriate kayak for you. \nAll classes are taught by ACA (American Canoe Association) certified instructors. Class size is limited with a 5:1 maximum student to teacher ratio. SUMMARY:Kids Kayaking
DESCRIPTION:Our kids class is a great way to introduce your child to the sport of kayaking. Designed with fun and water safety as primary goals\, we teach students through a variety of games and exploration. Our experienced\, certified instructors teach basic strokes\, directional control\, how to get in and out of the kayak safely\, and what to do when you capsize. Classes are taught in traditional youth sized sea kayaks. \nMaximum student:teacher ratio is 4:1\nAges: 7-13\n$40/person for two hours\nThis class is non-refundable.\nThere must be at least 4 students at least 10 days in advance to run the class.\nClass includes instruction and all necessary equipment. \nREQUIREMENTS:\n– Kids will always be wearing life jackets while on the water.\n– Kids must be comfortable in the water with a life jacket on.\n– Parent/guardian must complete a waiver. Please bring a completed copy of the waiver.
